This site is dedicated to documenting these wild vehicles and sharing their stories. It’s a place where cars can finally tell their side of the story.

What is a firetruck?

A fire truck (also known as a fire engine) is a specially-designed or modified vehicle that serves as a firefighting apparatus. Its primary purposes include transporting firefighters and water to fire incidents and carrying equipment for firefighting operations during drills. Fire trucks are often based on commercial vehicle chassis, which are further upgraded and customized to meet firefighting requirements. These vehicles are authorized to use emergency lights, sirens, and communication equipment. Some fire engines have specialized functions, such as wildfire suppression or aircraft rescue and firefighting.

What is not a firetruck?

Passenger vehicles are not firetrucks. Passenger vehicles, such as sedans, SUVs, and minivans, are designed for everyday transportation. They serve the general public, providing comfort, convenience, and mobility. In contrast, firetrucks have a specialized purpose: responding to emergencies, extinguishing fires, and performing rescue operations. Firetrucks are equipped with essential firefighting tools, including hoses, water tanks, ladders, and specialized gear. Passenger vehicle drivers do not undergo this specialized training and are not prepared to handle emergency situations like professional firefighters. Additionally, firetrucks adhere to strict safety and operational regulations, whereas passenger vehicles follow standard traffic rules but are not subject to the same rigorous standards as emergency vehicles. In summary, while passenger vehicles play a crucial role in daily life, they are fundamentally different from purpose-built firetrucks designed for firefighting and rescue missions.
